As the disciples watched the ascension of Jesus on the Mount of Olives, he commissioned them to be his witnesses.  We as his disciples are commissioned too.  How have we, personally or as a church, been carrying out his calling?

There were many proofs of his appearance that spoke about the kingdom of God; and these proofs increase their faith.  What evidence in your life that may testify to Christ’s resurrection and which may encourage others in their faith?

Luke’s Gospel gave an account of what Jesus began to do and to teach.  Acts begins with an anticipation for action.  How does Jesus‘ appearance after his death adds to this anticipation?   

We may find that rest only when the struggles of life ceased and that the promises of God come alive by our total reliance on our Lord.  Trust his promises and rest.

The blood that is poured out for us is not from cattle or goats but from the Lamb of God himself.  Purify yourself this day “your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”

Jesus the great high priest presented himself as the once-for-all sacrifice for salvation and perfection of all his followers.  Are you following him?

The only way to respond to the covenant that is superior to the one at Mt Sinai is in faithful worship.  How may you worship the awesome God faithfully in your speech and conduct today?

Do not give in easily, persevere by keeping our eyes on the Lord Jesus.

The Law no longer binds us as in the old covenant but is now written on our hearts by faith.  What doubts still hold you back? 

The waving of palm branches symbolically conveyed the notion of victory over one’s enemy.  What victory were the people expecting?  What victory was actually coming?
