God’s purpose will triumph for his people, when nations will be gathered and prophecy will be fulfilled, but his people must walk in the light of the Lord.

May ours heart be filled with God’s joy as we look toward that heavenly Jerusalem, giving thanks to Him (v4), interceding for Israel and all of God’s people (vv6-9).

List the warnings in this passage.  What changes do you need to make in your life to be better prepared for Christ’s coming again?   

Our Lord’s concern was with consistent preparedness in godly living rather than with dates of His coming again.  What is yours?       

What are “the deeds of darkness” we are to put aside and “the armour of light” we are to put on?  What does it mean to “clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ” (v14)?

How will God “making all things new” mean to you personally?  Why is pure living (v27) part of “making all things new”?          

What essentially is this prophecy and promise about?  What is God calling His people to do in obeying in response to His promise?  

What does Paul encouraged Christians to pursue, fight for and lay hold of?

What is of great gain to a Christian? We also observed in 

Phil 4:11-13 that Paul  have learned of this great gain through circumstances he has faced, what about us?

Why do you think Paul is trying to say in these two verses about a Christian’s attitude towards life? How do we apply this into our own lives?
