How did the people think God treated them? What did they say was the source of their problems?

Continue to pray for God’s leading as the congregation prepares to elect the Senior Minister, elder and deacons on Sunday 27 May.

In the prayer recorded here, God’s grace and power are reviewed through Israel’s redemptive history. Where do you see God at work in each part of the history?

Pray as the membership class ends this evening that members will \”continue to live [their] lives in [Christ], rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as [they] were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.\” (Col. 2:6-8)

What is the relationship between the three parts of the Israelites’ worship: (i) instruction from the Word, (ii) confession of sin and (iii) praise of God?

Pray for our monthly lunch ministry at Tanjong Pagar that God’s Spirit will renew minds and reinforce life-transforming convictions.

How important is the reading of God’s word in your own spiritual renewal? What will you do as a result of spiritual renewal?

Pray that as we prepare our hearts and minds to serve God on the Lord’s day tomorrow as well as every day in our lives, we may serve faithfully and well, always mindful of \”the Day approaching\”.

What is the significance of reviving the booths (cf. Lev 23:34-43)?

Pray for the families in our midst facing financial, marital and relational problems. Ask yourself how can the knowledge of the gospel help them. Is God prompting you to be His messenger for them?

Who came and joined in the study of the Law (v13) and what did they find written in the Law (vv14-15)?

Pray for China with its over 1.3 billion people that God will continue to have mercy upon the nation and bring the people to His Son. Pray that those sharing the Gospel will do so in word and deed that examplify God’s grace.

What happened when the people truly understand the Scriptures (vv9-12 cf. Deut 16:14)?

Pray as the Board meets this evening that God be present to lead and guide. Pray for Eld Harold Or as he convenes the meeting.

How did the people first respond to the book of the Law of Moses (vv3,5,6,9)? How do you account for this response?

Pray for one another as we struggle to keep our daily spiritual disciplines and as we witness to an unbelieving world watching us in our homes, schools and workplaces.

Why do you suppose that it took 13 years from 458B.C. until this great assembly in 445B.C. for Ezra to fully and publicly proclaim the truth of the law?

Give thanks for God blessing ORPC in so many ways. Pray that we may be faithful to His calling and not run the race in vain and that in all areas of our lives, Christ may be given the first place (Col 1:18).
