Who Is Jesus

WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

FULLY MAN

As the Son of God, he has no beginning. But he came into the world, taking on human flesh. Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Israel around 3 B.C. and started his public ministry when he was about 30 years old (around 27 A.D.). He taught his followers who God is and revealed God’s plan to rescue humankind from sin and death.

FULLY GOD

His teaching is accompanied by many miracles he performed, demonstrating his control over the natural world, over sickness and death. He lived in perfect obedience, died a sinless man on the cross, and resurrected on the third day, demonstrating his divine life and power over sin and death. The risen Jesus appeared to many people, ascended into heaven in the sight of many witnesses, and promised he will return to fully realise his eternal kingdom.

SAVIOUR

Jesus, the Son of God, came to the world to fulfil God’s plan in saving humanity from sin and death. Through his sacrificial death on the cross, believers are redeemed from sin and death; by his resurrection, followers are given new eternal life. His ascension into heaven to the right hand of God the Father Almighty assures that we have unhindered access to God through him.

For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.

Luke 19:10

I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.

John 11:25-26

LORD AND KING

Jesus’ birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension fulfilled all the prophecies about the coming Messiah (Christ) recorded in the Scripture. Jesus is the foretold promised king of Israel, sent by God the Father to bring all creation back under his perfect rule.

OUR RESPONSE

Responding to Jesus is as simple. We simply need to tell Him that we trust Him and accept His gift of love and forgiveness. And we can be assured that Jesus listens!

You can use these words as a simple and sincere prayer to Jesus, and ask Him to be your Saviour and Lord today.

“Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me and dying for me on the cross. Your precious blood washes me clean of every sin. You are my Lord and Saviour, now and forever. I believe that You rose from the dead and that You are alive today. Because of Your finished work, I am now a beloved child of God and live in your presence in heaven forever. Thank You for giving me eternal life and filling my heart with Your peace and joy. Amen.”
