In 1989, Chung Wei graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the National University of Singapore. Thereafter, he worked as a lawyer for a few years before going on to do other kinds of work relating to life insurance, investment/trading and lecturing.

Chung Wei has served as a deacon and elder for ORPC. During his term as a serving elder, he also took on the role of Session Clerk for two years. He has also served as a small group leader and youth bible study leader.

After his term as serving elder ended, Chung Wei went for seminary education at the Singapore Bible College in 2018 and graduated with a Master of Divinity (Biblical Studies) degree in 2021.

Since 1994, Chung Wei has been married to Giok Hoa and they have a son, Rei Hrn who is in his 20s.

Chung Wei enjoys reading and going for walks.
