For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. ~ Ps 100:5
GOD IS FAITHFUL. Orpc has a special place in my heart as you can see from the diagram above. Throughout the years, I have witnessed members/worshippers come and go, increase in pastoral staff from two colleagues to the present six, births of babies but also deaths of members, emergence of new church leaders and served with three different senior ministers. However, God’s faithfulness remains unchanged in providing resources and leading the church to grow.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Th 5:16-17
GOD GIVES JOY AND STRENGTH. My heart overflows with thanksgiving as I thank God for the church and the privilege of serving together with a group of God-loving and dedicated choristers and musicians. The joy is tremendous as we encourage and spur one another in giving our best to the Lord’s ministry and to grow spiritually. On a personal level, I thank God for consistent good health, for my mother (retired preacher) who models true servant-hood, a supportive husband and independent children. It is God’s grace and mercy that saw me through difficult times and humbled me in good times.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Phil 4:6-7
GOD LEADS AND I FOLLOW. The Holy Spirit prompts and pricks me always. The thought of furthering my studies has always been in my mind but was uncertain about the timing. However, He indicated clearly through various means and persons which led to this decision late last year. It is my desire to soak in the Word more systematically and in a more conducive environment – Bible College. As I know it is a major decision that involves the church and whole family, I deliberately and earnestly prayed and diligent journaled of God’s small and big cues in embarking on this journey of faith. My main concern was to find a right and suitable music director to take over. Thank God for leading Dr Agnes Tan to us. Let us continue to pray for her as she settles down in ministry.
Thank God for many of you who have left footprints in my heart — I am a beneficiary of your love to God and His servant. May the love of God in you continue to reach out and touch lives as theologian William Barclay expresses, “When love dies in any church, the work of Christ cannot do other than wither and fade.” Lastly but fondly I say to you, “å†è§” – Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again!
