Pastoral Staff

Rev Dr Clive Chin (Senior Pastor)

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Clive is a Chinese-American, who migrated with his family to the United States at the age of ten. He is an ordained minister, having served as a pastor for over 17 years in C&MA and EFCA Chinese churches in the USA. In the last 13 years, he served as a lecturer in teaching positions in Seoul, Chicago, and Singapore. Most recently, he was an Academic Dean and Professor at Singapore Bible College, where he served for 8 years. He holds a PhD in Biblical and Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a PhD in Intercultural Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  
He and his wife, Rhonda, have been married for 28 years. The Chins are parents of two children. Elisabeth (21) works in digital technology in San Francisco. Stephen (17) is in the 11th grade at International Community School in Clementi. 
Clive is an avid runner and enjoys watching shows on the Travel Channel.

Ministry Role

As the Senior Pastor, who works closely with the Session, Clive is responsible for the overall pastoral care, spiritual growth, and major ministries of the English congregation. 

Rev Dr Peter Poon (Interim Moderator)

Peter began pastoral ministry in 1981 with All Saints Presbyterian Church. Since then, he has served with Youth for Christ International, Prinsep St Presbyterian Church, and Living Praise Presbyterian Church. Currently he is also the Director for Missions Partnership at Bible Society of Singapore. He and his wife - Helena - have three children: Joel, Jobeth and Johanna. He likes the outdoors and motorbikes.

Ministry role

Rev. Peter focuses on supporting Bible-teaching and learning ministries (Sunday School, youth and adult learning programmes) in the congregation.

Dr Agnes Tan (Music Director)

Agnes has a passion for God's people and sensed God's call to help them realise their gifting and calling to fulfil their destiny in being effective instruments in His kingdom. She grew up in a God-fearing family whose mother served as a missionary in southern Philippines. Gifted as she is, she eventually went to US for graduate studies in music that launched her into full-time teaching at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Northern California and later into full time ministry in US churches.   

Ministry role:

Dr. Agnes supports the Worship ministry, with particular responsibility for co-ordinating all music activities.

Ps Timothy Pang (Youth & Young Adults)

Timothy began full-time ministry in 2003 and has been serving in ORPC since end-2015. A graduate from NUS, he was a social worker for 3 years. He later received his M.Div theological training at Singapore Bible College. He has been serving in both church and parachurch settings for close to 14 years, mainly in missions and young people ministries. He is passionate about teaching God's Word and discipling young people.

Timothy is married and has 4 children. He enjoys reading, sports (basketball, triathlons), and playing/listening to music. He also blogs regularly at Skillful Shepherds.

Ps. Timothy is the key staff support for Youth and Young Adults Ministries.

Ps Herna Kong (Women & Children)

Herna obtained her Th.M and M.Div from Singapore Bible College. She started as a teacher and counsellor in a Christian school in Jakarta. Later, she was a biblical and counselling correspondent with Radio Bible Class (Our Daily Bread Ministries) and concurrently an adjunct lecturer (Greek Grammar) in a theological seminary. Since 2005, she has served in Singapore at Hebron Bible-Presbyterian Church, and at Glory Presbyterian Church as a chaplain in the affiliated Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School.

Herna is married to Andy, and they have a daughter, Gracia. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and meeting up with people.

Ps. Herna is the key staff support for Women and Children Ministries.

Rev John Chew (Pastoral Care)

John received his theological training at Singapore Bible College (B.Th) and at Bible College of Victoria, Melbourne (M.A. in Ministry). He served in the marketplace for eight years before going into full time ministry as a Youth Worker with Singapore Youth for Christ. He later served as a pastoral staff in True Way Presbyterian Church, Glory Presbyterian Church, Toong Chai Presbyterian Church and Sion Christian Church. He joined ORPC in 2016, after serving at All Saints' Home as Asst. Chaplain.

John is married to Evelyn, and they have two adult sons, Gideon and Titus. He enjoys fishing, table tennis and cycling. He also enjoys watching sports programs such as soccer and tennis, and documentaries on nature and the animal world.

Ps Edward Goh (Missions & Evangelism and Small Groups)

Edward received his theological training (M.Div in Biblical Studies) at Singapore Bible College (SBC) in 1999. He later completed his D.Min in “Leadership in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry” at Denver Seminary, Colorado, USA. Edward was initially trained as a Mechanical Engineer (B.Eng, NUS). He served five years in the market place before he was called into full time ministry. He has served in his home church, The People’s Bible Church (TPBC) since 1992 in various capacities, most recently as Executive Pastor. He was ordained by the local council of The People’s Bible Church in 2007. His passion is in expository preaching of God’s word and training cell group leaders to impart biblical knowledge. His ministry at his home church included worship leading, marriage counselling, overseeing the evangelism committee and assisting the Senior Pastor in ministry planning. He also conducts wakes and participates in visitations.

Edward is bilingual and speaks several local dialects. Married to Angelina (“Angie”), they have three children, Asher (12), Anna (14) and Justin (16). During his free time, he enjoys catching up with friends over coffee and spending time with his family. He jogs occasionally, enjoys reading and watching wildlife documentaries.
